Description
The Binomio de Oro of America, iconic Colombian vallenato group, was established on June 16, 1976 in the Caribbean Region of Colombia by vocalist Rafael Orozco and accordionist Israel Romero. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the group experienced a notable increase in popularity, expanding especially to Venezuela, with a focus on the city of Maracaibo, and in Mexico, especially in Monterrey. Binomio has managed to connect with a new generation seeking to satisfy different cultural needs, turning vallenato into a channel of communication. This factor has significantly contributed to Rafael and Israel's success in the music scene.
