About FRANKIE RUIZ: Puerto Rican singer. He was an important figure in the subgenre of romantic salsa that was popular in the 1980s and early 1990s, a salsa that came closer to pop music and left aside eroticism in its lyrics during the 1990s, Ruiz was challenged, along with other performers of romantic salsa, but managed to record a series of hits during his career. Frankie Ruiz also recorded some of his biggest hits with Orquesta La Solución and Tommy Olivencia.
About SALSA MEETS JAZZ BAND: A unique band from Los Angeles created for the pleasure of Jazz, Latin Jazz and Salsa music fans. Salsa Meets Jazz was a famous musical series, now legendary, that took place at the Village Gate in New York City during the 1980s. Now Los Angeles not only has their own version of the Salsa Meets Jazz Series, but also a dedicated orchestra created to evoke and preserve one of the greatest moments in Jazz, Latin Jazz and Salsa with classic and original songs.
About THE GRANADA LA:Located in Alhambra, CA, The Granada LA is a 4-story 1920s style building that was a nightclub/tapas restaurant with full bar and bottle service. For over two decades, The Granada LA hosts live Latin music, they also offer dance classes and private lessons in Salsa, Bachata, Latin and Ballroom dancing in their dance studio.
