The Big Band is the first Honduran musical group to have 18 members, including wind instruments such as trumpets, trombone and saxophone. Although it currently has 15 members, it continues to be recognized for its versatility in music and its focus on merengue, which has earned them the nickname of "The Babies of Merengue".
