The Banda Blanca is a Honduran musical group from San Pedro Sula. They got their name from a TV show called Garzas Blancas. Their most famous song, "La Sopa de Caracol", has gained them international recognition and from their success with this song, the band popularized the Punta dance rhythm. Their musical influence is based on the cultural roots and musical richness of Honduras that is known to this day.
