Los Dareyes De La Sierra, a popular band in the Regional Mexican music genre, was formed in Navojoa, Sonora, in 1997. Originally known as 'Los Llegadores de Sonora', the musicians faced financial difficulties that prevented them from recording under this name. Later, a friend advised them to adopt the name 'Los Alteños de la Sierra', under which they recorded their first live album. They have produced six albums to date.

Due to legal issues with their old name, the band decided to change to 'Los Dareyes de la Sierra'.
