Lady Pink, the artistic name of Sandra Fabara, is an Ecuadorian graffiti and contemporary art artist, recognised worldwide and often called 'the first lady of graffiti'. Born in Ambato, Ecuador in 1964, she immigrated to New York at seven years old, where she started doing graffiti at the age of 15. She was one of the first women to enter and succeed in the male-dominated world of graffiti in the Bronx. Lady Pink adopted her name from her teenage love poem, which she signed as 'Pink Lady' and was soon shortened by her graffiti colleagues to 'Lady Pink'. In the 80s, she worked in the film industry, building and painting sets. Currently, she concentrates her work on studio art and commissioned murals. Her works are present in important collections of contemporary art.
